Kat Davis, the Head Honey Mixer and Founder of Wild Honey Apothecary is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is also a Gypsy Spirited Holistic RN who has studied natural skincare and herbs for over a decade, I'm thrilled to share her story ...
Janet: What inspires you the most?
Kat: Laughter inspires me the most. This may seem like a strange inspiration but hearing or having a full bellied, head thrown back laugh sparks my soul. It makes me feel connected and creative, it is a magical moment when the outer body shares with the world, exactly what your soul is feeling. Totally inspiring.
Janet: What is your favorite product + why?
Kat: Such a hard question to answer because I love them all so much and they are each my "favorite" for different reasons. Tied for my favorite are; Honey Love Face Scrub and our Higher Vibration Oil. Our Honey Love Face Scrub is a classic, where it all began creation, and will always hold a special place in my heart for that reason alone. Not to mention it is pure raw honey goodness, it feels like pure nature to me, almost one with the sacred bees that created it, a little jar of pure lovin' is how I would describe it. Our Higher Vibration is one of our most recent creations and I feel that there is something very special about it, the pairing of the essential oils used, the Palo Santo and Blood Orange .. it seems as though they must have longed for each other for some time. I use it myself daily, during meditation and it is a great companion to my gypsy soul during long road trips to center me and calm my mind.
Janet: Tell us about your name.
Kat: The name was easy for me and holds a special meaning. I will start with the 'Wild' .. I love the wild, the wildness found in nature, the wild that resides in all of us. The brave, untamed beating in our soul that warms our spirit and beckons us to let go and fall into the waiting net below. 'Honey' has two reasons, one of which is due to the use raw honey I incorporate in most blends. The second, a song "Tupelo Honey" by Van Morrison, which is me and my momma's song ;) When I was little she would put the record on and sing it to me, it holds such a special place in my heart and just may explain my life long love of honey and bees. Apothecary is a play on the old "apothecaries" or places one could be dispensed herbal preparations. A place where beneficial concoctions are created and sold.
